Manito Silk

High Quality Silk Bedding & Production

Manito silk is different because it is a family owned business every part of the process, from the mulberry fields to manufacturing, and fulfillment to customer service is managed by the family. This lets them guarantee a level of quality that other silk producers simply cannot.

It starts in the lush Mulberry fields of Houshan region of Anhui Province, China, where the fine silk production process has a long and respected tradition.

This family has contracted with thousands of local farmers who grow mulberry leaves and nurture the silk worms as they spin their cocoons. They have been awarded the National Poverty Alleviation Enterprise certificate from China's State Council, in recognition of their role addressing rural poverty by supporting farmers.

Once the cocoons are grown, the farmers deliver them to the production company, where they are spun into raw Mulberry silk fibers. Because the silkworms of the Bombyx mori moth are fed only mulberry leaves, the resulting silk is some of the finest available in the world. Pure white in color and made up of individual long fibers, Mulberry silk is more refined than other types of silks, such as wild silk, which are less uniform in color and texture, with shorter strands.

Manito’s decades of experience and expertise in harvesting and manufacturing raw silk is so well-respected that has allowed them to assist in the drafting of China's National Standards for the manufacture of raw silk and silk duvets.

In fact, Manito silk is the finest quality available -- a full 22-momme count, which is the measure of silk's quality and thickness. Deep, luxurious charmeuse weave gives all items an unmistakable drape. The unique combination of momme count, attention to weave, quality control, exclusive mulberry diet, and impeccable craftsmanship that make Manito products the best out there. Some high-end suppliers take some of these steps, but the confidence that no other silk bedding and sleepwear company goes to the lengths allows them to guarantee you the finest quality of silk fabric available.

How can we be so confident that Manito silk is the best? Because we ordered silk products from the competitors to gauge their quality. We even invited customers to feel Manito silk next to other producers’ material, in blind touch-tests – and Mantito’s silk won out every time.

We invite you to take a close look at our quality, and compare it to anyone. The difference is easy to see, and is evident when you do a side-by-side comparison with any of the competitors.

The woven silk fabric is dyed to the highest international standards for environmentally responsible coloring. Manito’s advanced dying process means your silk bedding and sleepwear items have a rich and deep color throughout. Plus, you can mix and match with confidence, knowing that our colors are consistent.

The finished material is hand cut and stitched into bedding and sleepwear by artisans who have years of experience working with silk. Their pride of workmanship is evident in every stitch and thoughtful detail of Manito's bedding and sleepwear, from our invisible zippers and elegant pillow ties, to the rich and consistent colors.

When it comes to crafting the products, they don’t take the shortcuts other producers do. For example, even the trim and piping in the Manito quilted pillows is 100% mulberry silk, not the artificial material some of the competitors use.

Indeed, in the stunning Quilted Collection the beauty goes deeper than the surface: Manito features 100% silk floss batting, not the polyester batting most manufacturer’s use, so you benefit from the healthy, natural breathability of silk through and through.

Since the Manito name is put on all of the products, they are very protective of their reputation: The quality assurance team hand-inspects each piece before it leaves the factory. From there, all of Manito products are shipped to the retail, customer service, and fulfillment center in Vancouver, BC, on Canada’ West coast.

It’s a long journey from the mulberry fields to your door, but being a family owned company Manito control quality every step of the way, ensuring your total satisfaction – guaranteed!
